Two weeks equals two wins for Richard Childress Racing as the 2025 season starts hot for the experienced organization.

Austin Hill wasted no time amending last week’s mechanical issues as he secured his third win in a row at his hometown track of Atlanta in the Bennett Transportation & Logistics 250.

As the green flag flew, Hill and RCR teammate Jesse Love commanded the field for most of stage one, save for a fantastic save by Ryan Sieg on lap six that caused the cars to re-rack. Sam Mayer continued his momentum from Daytona finishing third in the stage.

Hill’s ability at plate tracks was on full display as he led throughout the race, with his skill to block pass attempts and mimic opponents lines almost instantaneously giving him chances to shut down runs.

Stage two would show us much of the same, with the RCR #21 and #2 pacing the field lap after lap. Besides the end of the first two stages, things remained rather cordial, with cars staying single file and not risking the chance of falling back the pack on the bottom.

Love would surpass Hill for first with no drafting help halfway through the stage, but Hill would soon showcase his talent at plate tracks, clearing Love in turn one and commanding the lead back.

This move helped Hill sweep the first two stages and looked poised to dominate en route to another hometown win.

With cars pitting at the end of the stage, Love would fall back further and Hill would stall coming out of the pits, yet nonetheless came out first and would lead a hungry Sam Mayer and Aric Almirola, making his first Xfinity start in 2025 for Joe Gibbs Racing in the #19.

Hill would only get around 20 laps to lead the final stage, as CJ McLaughlin’s tire exploded and caused a caution. This would only be the start of the chaos that ensued in stage three, as spins by Jeremy Clements and Brandon Jones would bring out cautions yet again.

Things weren’t being made easy for the #21 Bennett Transportation Chevy with the consistent amount of restarts happening along with strong runs by cars like the #4 of Parker Retzlaff and a parade of Mustangs forming a bottom line and gaining momentum.

The run for the Fords wouldn’t last long. With the damaged and ever persistent #48 of Nick Sanchez pushing for yet another run, he would catch the apron of the track attempting three wide, getting him loose and tagging Sam Mayer which sent the #41 into the wall hard.

With no help from his teammate, Hill fought off the likes of Allgaier and Almirola, before a debris caution from Connor Zillisch’s padding would set the field up one more time with three laps to go.

With Allgaier getting a push from his JRM teammate Sammy Smith, he would pass the #21 and assumed the lead, but just as fast as he took it, he lost it, with Hill clearing him yet again.

Hill jockeyed with the determined veteran Almirola, and as the two cars took the white flag Hill used a push and rocketed to the lead once more.

As cars spun out behind him, Hil would lead the field to the checkered, securing his 8th Xfinity Series win on drafting tracks, tying Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Tony Stewart for the most in series history. Impressive company, no doubt

“There’s over 500 people here from Bennett (Transportation) and to be able to do this is so special,” said Hill. “We’re gonna soak this one up, drink a lot of beer, and get ready for the next race.”

Hill and RCR will look to continue the hot start to 2025 in Austin, Texas as the series heads to the Circuit of The Americas for the first road race of the season. The Focused Health 250 starts at 12:30 p.m. PST on the CW.
